The Internet Comes to Lonesome

     Lonesome Lake will never be the same.  Gus and his missus have the internet thing going on now.  Big, ugly, gray dish stuck to the side of their log cabin. Apparently, they can connect to the rest of the world.

​

     Hear news direct from Bangkok or Australia.  Text their friends and order stuff they don’t need on something called the Amazon.  

​

     It might make sense if they were on the North Pole, but it's only 50 miles to town with all the stores anyone could want. There is the hardware store, the grocery store, the liquor store, a chainsaw repair and a garage. You can buy a newspaper, catch up on the world’s events and stop by the barber shop to get all the news that matters. 

​

     Time to go.  They invited me over to watch the Net flicks.
